rubber ducks!

I have blogged a couple times about the insane amount of ducks that Uncle Lex and Aunt Leah gave the twins for their birthday before...

well yesterday Courtney flushed one down the toilet. We didnt realize it (lets say Jon didnt realized it) until Samantha had gone to the bathroom. The last time something was flushed down the toilet (by me, I thought I had bought the disposable toilet brushes-not) it cost something like $200 to have a plumber come and take the toilet apart so Jon thought he'd could do it. He got the toilet off and worked on it for a long time even went a bought a snake, nothing worked so we are now going to buy a new toilet for $99 at Home Depot...still cheaper then calling a plumber!

and we are throwing away 100 rubber ducks...

Saturday @ the zoo

We spent a few fun hours at the Phoenix zoo yesterday. Papa is getting a new knee on Monday so he's going to be out of commision for about 6 weeks so we had to get to the zoo! Sam loves to ride the camel and never wants anyone to ride with her!

Sam pretty much was the only one who would ride in the stroller. The twins didnt want anything to do with so most of the time Papa was just pushing around an empty stroller (well full of all of our stuff)

Daddy and his twinkles!

Jon and I went out on a 'double date' last night with Kim and Mike. We went to Koi Sushi- the same place that we went to for our anniversary and then went up to Salty Senorita for some $2 Pacificos. Fun evening! We came home to everyone konked out on the couch (Courtney was sleeping in her bed like a good little girl!)

Bay Area - 10 hours

Yesterday Jon had to fly up for a quick work meeting so I tagged along. He flies so much on SW airlines that he has a free companion fare ( ijst have to pay the airport fee which was $5) My good friend Michelle, who has been doing my hair since 93, had an opening so I got a much need hair color and cut! We had a 6:55am flt out of PHX to OAK but Jon usually takes the 7:10am to SF so when he looked at the gate board he looked 7:10 Oakland. We were sitting at the wrong gate and missed the DIRECT fight. We went to LA then OAK. We were suppose to land at 8:05 but instead we landed at 9:25. Which was a bummer becasue I was suppose to meet my friend Colin at 9! I did manage to meet Julie for coffee at the Starbucks in San Leandro. It sure was great to chat with out the kids intrupting everything we say! Then I was off to Danville to meet Dave and Sarah at Pete's for my favorite #1 chicken sandwich w tomato and a side of ranch! oh so very tasty! Kris met us there around 1 and we walked over to the coffee bar that Jenny works at for a tasty little cupcake! Then I had my hair done! Oh how lovely that was! I love my friend Michelle!! I was going to try and make it into the City to meet Jon but my hair took a little longer then I expected so I went and saw Jack since I would see him next month when his sister and the Woods come for a visit. He's going to New Zealand with his folks and Max! Lucky dog!! I picked Jon up at the Bart station near the airport, took the rental back and got to the right gate on time. Jon made me look it up! We didnt get to sleep until midnight and the girls woke up at 6:55 am and were complete whiners for 2 solid hours! oh how I wish we could have stayed the night up there!!

Namy in 70!

Today Namy turned seventy. Samantha, Sydney Courtney and I made her a cake from scratch. She asked for a chocolate cherry cake. It turned out pretty good. First attempt at a cake from scratch! The girls of course loved licking the bowl! (especially Courtney)

We went to their place for a little birthday party. My girls think that at birthday parties you have to have pizza, cake and ice cream! We all got stuffed. I asked Samantha last week what she wanted to get Namy for her birthday and she said "a snuggie," I said a nice warm snuggly blankie and she said "no, a snuggie, you know a blanket with arms." I didnt think I was going to find it since I have only seen them on tv but at Walgreens last night I found one! She also wanted to get her a book about a golden unicorn that she saw a Disneyland but I have no idea what she was talking about!

Her wish will come true!

Courtney & Daddy laughing

Jon was trying to look something up on the computer but Courtney was laughing and making him laugh!

Sunny Sunday afternoon

It got pretty warm here today so we put a little heat in the pool (81*) and played for a bit. We all had a blast once we got use to it...

Cheese!

Daddy and his girls!

I told the girls to hold hands so they folded their hands. Dad tried to show them what I meant but they didnt want anything to do with that!

We ended the day with Jons tasty BBQ of baby back ribs, beans and coleslaw--YUMMY!!

Our next big house project is to get the backyard looking spiffy...

Sydney

When Syd wakes up in the morning she always runs to the door, gets on the floor and cries for us through the crack btwn the door and floor. Today was my lucky day to go get her.I walked to her room in a daze, it was 7:20 am. I opened the door slowly and she came around the door with a big smile on her face and said "peek boo!" I got a big smile on my face and was happy that I had to to be the one to get her!
