Courtney

This morning Courtney went upstairs and she was playing quietly by herself. At one point she yelled "poop." I was doing something so I yelled back up "I'll be there in a sec" she then yelled 'yucky poop' so I decided I better go up there. As I was going up the stairs she was coming down fully naked....I thought the worse had happened instead she had nice little rabbit poops piled nicely on the floor, very easy clean up. So now she is wearing a pair of underwear and she is suppose to tell me when she has to go again....

poop

As I was sitting here on the computer Sam jsut yelled "Mom, Courtney pooped on me" sure enough I went to see what the heck she was talking about and she sat on Sams lap and the pooped leaked out onto her lap. yuck! The cool thing was she went and got a diaper wipe and cleaned herself all up!

barbies

the girls love their barbies... Sydney put them all to 'bed' on a cardboard box!

4:52 am

That is when Courtney woke up this morning...thankfully she fell back to sleep with me in my bed!

Another early morning

This time it was my turn to get up early. (Jon did get up early but he had to leave to go to SF) Both of the girls woke up at 4:51. Sydney promptly fell back to sleep on the couch but Court watched a bit of the sprout sunny side up show but got tired around 6 and fell asleep at my door - slept there for an hour!

good morning

This morning the twins woke up at 5 am. It was my morning but Jon being the most fabulous husband ever got up and put them on the couch were they fell back to sleep. Here they are still sleeping at 7:45

6 bucks

Yesterday Kim got 4 free tickets to the Dodgers vs. Rangers spring training game. Jon had gone to 2 games this week with his boss at this ballpark and said the nachos were fabulous and pretty cheap! We only watched about 4 innings.

YUMMY!

new beds

Sydney and Courtney have been sleeping on a mattress on the floor since we moved in. A couple weeks ago I ordered some bed frames from Amazon.com and they arrived on Friday. On Saturday Jon and Sam put them together. I chose beds with drawers underneath so they have a place to keep their toys. They think they are really cool. Courtney fell out of it last night so we are keeping pillows on the floor next to the bed until they get used to it.

Luke Air Show

The Luke Air Force base is maybe 3 miles away from where we live. Today was "Thunder in the Desert" and you would have thought they would have been prepared for the onslaught of people to come and watch. We drove up there thinking it wouldnt be that hard to park. After being in line with 100's of other cars we decided to pull over and park and walk to the gate. As we were walking up we saw at least 500 or more people standing in line. A family was walking away and we asked what the deal was and they said they had been there since 9:30 (it was 11:15) standing in line to get on base and they werent even close to getting in so they gave up. We turned around and went and got subway sandwiches and went to a field across from the base to watch the show. The only bad thing was no bathroom so once Sam said she really had to go we packed up and headed home. Next year we we'll be more prepared to stay the afternoon. it was pretty cool what part of we saw...just bummed we missed the thunderbirds! I could have looked out front door but was to lazy.

update: we saw the thunderbirds--they flew right over the house...soo cool!

Sams Soccer

Tonight was Sams first soccer practice. She has played soccer before but it has always been parent participation and there were no games or anything like that. She has games on Saturdays and practices on Mondays. She had a lot of fun and really liked the kids on her team. It's spring break here so only 4 out of the 7 kids on her team made it tonight. 3 girls and 1 boy who Sam said was really fast...faster then her!
Her dad and her picked out some pretty cool soccer shoes with pink stripes and of course the pink shin guards!

One of the dads I think is an assistant couch and was great with the kids. The lady on the far right is the coach and I think the goalie is her son/assistant coach.

everybody took turns at playing goalie

She blocked the ball!

tough day at the office

Jons boss is in town for a couple days...

Sams check up

Samantha saw Dr. Amjadi today for her 4 year old check up. She is 42 inches tall (90%) and 40.6 lbs. (75%) She also had 4 shots and is all ready for Kindergarten- even though she isnt going for another year and half. She screamed so loud, high pitched screams while she was getting them too. She doesnt have to get another shot until she is 11, thankfully! The doctor also said she communicates like a 6 or 7 year old and is really smart...I could have told her that :)

Sams art work

Sam made a paper plate fishbowl that she learned how to make on Sprout.

Uncle Lance visits

My brother Lance drove Alyssa down here. They left WA on Weds and showed up on Saturday. When they walked in the door Samantha ran into Alyssas arms and Courtney ran and jumped into Lances arms and gave him the biggest longest hug. It was super cute! They had a great time playing with eachother.

Lance use to do this to me when I was a kid!

Spring training

We are right smack dab in the middle of a bunch of Spring training 'Cactus League' ball fields. This year there are two more brand new fields in the area. Yesterday we (Samantha, Alyssa my brother Lance and I) went to one of the new ones in Goodyear where the Cleveland Indians and the Cincinnati Reds share a pretty cool field. It's dug into the ground. The Indians played the Seattle Mariners. I have no clue who won. They had lots of things for Sam to do (and it was free) We bought lawn seats and just enjoyed the sunny afternoon. Lance got to hot so we left at the bottom of the 8th.

Sam sure loved her hot dog!

Here are a couple videos of Sam - my camera phone isnt the best but you can get the gist of it.

A year late but she's here!

We left California a year ago yesterday. My niece Alyssa was suppose to move in with us then but decided to postpone and yesterday she finally arrived! The kids are very excited. This past week I cleaned out the downstairs playroom and moved toys to their rooms, loft and the fancy eating room. The play kitchen and a table are in there and they have been playing with the kitchen more now that it just isnt in a corner with all the other toys. It is going to be so nice to have Alyssa around especially on the days that Jon is out of town!

this morning

the twins slept in until 8:10 am. I love it when they do that especially on days when Jon is away. (He's in Vegas again for yet another trade show.) After they woke up I took off their diapers and they both peed in the potty! Yay. They are wearing training underwear right now so we'll see if they'll tell me when they have to go again!

**Sydney peed and told me right away...Courtney peed and could care less that she was wet, both back in diapers!

rubber ducks!

I have blogged a couple times about the insane amount of ducks that Uncle Lex and Aunt Leah gave the twins for their birthday before...

http://howegirls.blogspot.com/2009/02/ducks-in-row.html

http://howegirls.blogspot.com/2008/12/birthday-presents.html

well yesterday Courtney flushed one down the toilet. We didnt realize it (lets say Jon didnt realized it) until Samantha had gone to the bathroom. The last time something was flushed down the toilet (by me, I thought I had bought the disposable toilet brushes-not) it cost something like $200 to have a plumber come and take the toilet apart so Jon thought he'd could do it. He got the toilet off and worked on it for a long time even went a bought a snake, nothing worked so we are now going to buy a new toilet for $99 at Home Depot...still cheaper then calling a plumber!

and we are throwing away 100 rubber ducks...

Saturday @ the zoo

We spent a few fun hours at the Phoenix zoo yesterday. Papa is getting a new knee on Monday so he's going to be out of commision for about 6 weeks so we had to get to the zoo! Sam loves to ride the camel and never wants anyone to ride with her!

Sam pretty much was the only one who would ride in the stroller. The twins didnt want anything to do with so most of the time Papa was just pushing around an empty stroller (well full of all of our stuff)

Daddy and his twinkles!

Jon and I went out on a 'double date' last night with Kim and Mike. We went to Koi Sushi- the same place that we went to for our anniversary and then went up to Salty Senorita for some $2 Pacificos. Fun evening! We came home to everyone konked out on the couch (Courtney was sleeping in her bed like a good little girl!)

Bay Area - 10 hours

Yesterday Jon had to fly up for a quick work meeting so I tagged along. He flies so much on SW airlines that he has a free companion fare ( ijst have to pay the airport fee which was $5) My good friend Michelle, who has been doing my hair since 93, had an opening so I got a much need hair color and cut! We had a 6:55am flt out of PHX to OAK but Jon usually takes the 7:10am to SF so when he looked at the gate board he looked 7:10 Oakland. We were sitting at the wrong gate and missed the DIRECT fight. We went to LA then OAK. We were suppose to land at 8:05 but instead we landed at 9:25. Which was a bummer becasue I was suppose to meet my friend Colin at 9! I did manage to meet Julie for coffee at the Starbucks in San Leandro. It sure was great to chat with out the kids intrupting everything we say! Then I was off to Danville to meet Dave and Sarah at Pete's for my favorite #1 chicken sandwich w tomato and a side of ranch! oh so very tasty! Kris met us there around 1 and we walked over to the coffee bar that Jenny works at for a tasty little cupcake! Then I had my hair done! Oh how lovely that was! I love my friend Michelle!! I was going to try and make it into the City to meet Jon but my hair took a little longer then I expected so I went and saw Jack since I would see him next month when his sister and the Woods come for a visit. He's going to New Zealand with his folks and Max! Lucky dog!! I picked Jon up at the Bart station near the airport, took the rental back and got to the right gate on time. Jon made me look it up! We didnt get to sleep until midnight and the girls woke up at 6:55 am and were complete whiners for 2 solid hours! oh how I wish we could have stayed the night up there!!

Namy in 70!

Today Namy turned seventy. Samantha, Sydney Courtney and I made her a cake from scratch. She asked for a chocolate cherry cake. It turned out pretty good. First attempt at a cake from scratch! The girls of course loved licking the bowl! (especially Courtney)

We went to their place for a little birthday party. My girls think that at birthday parties you have to have pizza, cake and ice cream! We all got stuffed. I asked Samantha last week what she wanted to get Namy for her birthday and she said "a snuggie," I said a nice warm snuggly blankie and she said "no, a snuggie, you know a blanket with arms." I didnt think I was going to find it since I have only seen them on tv but at Walgreens last night I found one! She also wanted to get her a book about a golden unicorn that she saw a Disneyland but I have no idea what she was talking about!

Her wish will come true!

Courtney & Daddy laughing

Jon was trying to look something up on the computer but Courtney was laughing and making him laugh!
