sushi eye

Last night we put the twins to bed and put 'Blue Bird' in the dvd player for Samantha and Namy to watch while Jon and I went out to eat and get Papa from the airport. I know Sushi in the desert is an oxymoron but we thought we'd give it a try. We did chose one that is near an airport, hopefully they fly the fish in! We checked out citysearch and found a place in Tempe that had great reviews called 'sushi eye.' It was very good and the fish was fresh! We always get a couple spicy tuna hand rolls to start and they were excellent and had just the right amount of spice. We also had their Atkins roll which is tuna, salmon, yellowtail, crab meat & avocado rolled in a cucumber plus a couple others that were just as yummy. Right when we were paying the bill we watched the sushi chef make these tasty looking jalapeno poppers. He cut a couple peppers length wise stuffed it with the yummy spicy tuna put a dollop of cream cheese on top then battered and deep fried it. We definitely will be going back just to try those!
