Barley

I really dont know how people with kids live without a dog...Barley is the best at cleaning up all the food that the kids throw on the floor. The past few days he's been in heaven too because are garbage disposal has been on the fritz so I, being the bad dog owner, am giving him the twins trays to lick clean. I figure he's 12 he's lived a great life, let him be fat and happy. Ok so he's pretty much been fat his whole entire life and happy too but the vet yells at me everytime he goes in, no more table scraps!

the past couple days

Nothing to exciting happening around here the past couple days...Yesterday was Sams Debbie day so it was just me and the twins. I had to go to the dmv for a quick little thing that end being something that couldnt be done anyways so it was a big waste of time. then home for naps. We went for a long walk down to the eye docs to pick up a new contact for me. After 8 years of being contact free I am back in them. Maybe someday I'll get lasik again... We got home and the girls played out back for a bit before we went and picked Sam up. We met up with the Hodges for dinner at Chilis and Sydney just wasnt a happy girl so Jon ended up taking the twins back home while the rest of us went to the mall play area. Sure is nice to be there with just one kid!
This morning Tracy offered to have all the girls over to play with Jaina so I of course took her up on it. The chimney inspector came with the buyers realtor so I hung out at the house while that was being taken care of. I picked the twins up but Sam stayed with Jaina for a couple more hours so it was a pretty relaxing day for the mom here since the twins fell asleep on the way back from Jainas house! Plus tonight is "moms night out" with my toddling times playgroup yay!

more backyard

Sam wanted to play with the chalk today. I keep it up because the twins think it tastes good. I onlu gave her one piece and sure enough Courtney got a big ol bite of it. Cant wait to change that diaper tomorrow!

what a little cutie

Courtney and her tongue!

naps??

I think the girls are giving up there morning naps but there are some days like today. They slept in until 8:15...great since Sam didnt wake until 9:15 so we all got to sleept in! But at about 10 they both were starting to act sleepy and were very whiny and clingy. It was driving me nuts. Jon left early this morning for a day trip to Vegas for work, at least thats what he told me :) and he wont be home until late tonight. So when the twins were being clingy and whiny at 10 I was dreading the day...so at 10:30 I put them down for naps. I was completely shocked that they both went to sleep and slept until 1. They are now are happily eating their lunch. I think the afternoon will be spent at a park for some fun and fresh air...

backyard fun

We really are going to miss our backyard when we move...it has everything a kid could ask for... and boy(girl) they sure do love to play out there!

For some reason lately Samantha thinks the tilt of the head is cute when the camera comes out

San Pablo Park

This morning I met up with Rachel (Parker, Miranda and Elizabeth) and Ebba (Lincoln, Fiona and Allison) for a fun morning at a great park in Berkeley. They had been there before and said the bathrooms are a little less desirable so they keep porta pottys in their cars. We used Parkers. I sure wish I would have had a camera of Sam sitting on this toilet in the back of Rachels car taking a poo.

All the play structures have graffiti on them...sad!Great park nontheless!!

Sam sure likes Parker alot even though he is a boy as she puts it. She sure is going to miss him when we move!

toy box

The girls favorite thing to do nowadays is to take most the toys out the toy box and get into it. It's pretty dang cute when they are all in it. Plus if I remember to tell them to put the toys back in afterwards they do! Sam is now into making faces when the camera comes out...

check it out, Courtney is making spit bubbles!

Hughes

This morning Sam and I went to Aiden Zinks first birthday party. Sam was pretty shy and stayed by me the whole time except for a moment when all the kids went and ate. She went into Aidens sisters room and played with their barbies...the minute they came back though she was on me like glue again. Let's just hope this is a faze. She had a good time and was super happy once the cake came out! We had to leave because our cousins the Hughes from WA were coming over in the afternoon for a visit. Sam told everybody at the party "bye, thanks, I have to go because they are going to people at our house" it was cute. when we got home Sam waited in the car until they got there. It was a quick visit but we sure had a lot of fun playing.

naps

The past couple days the twins naps schedules have been all off. Yesterday someone was asleep from 9:30 am until 2:45 pm. It makes it hard to go out and do anything thats for sure. This morning they woke up at 6:30 so Syd went down at 9 for a nap and Cj at 9:45. That means they are going to want to take a power nap at 4! So we have a little window there to run out an do a few errands, hopefully!

3 parties for turning 3

Today was a Debbie day and she threw a little party for Samantha's birthday. It was her third party! The twins and I showed up after everybodies naps. Sam opened presents, then we all ate cuppy cakes that Sam and I made last night and we handed out fun little gift bags that Sam picked out for everyone. It was a lot of fun...they all know Sam well, she got Princess and Dora stuff!

Sydney really enjoyed the cup cake!

Courtney wasnt too sure about it...

on the edge

Ever since we (I mean Namy & Papa) bought Sam her twin bed she has slept right on the edge. The nights that it's my turn to read to her I always lay where she is sleeping in the above picture and when I leave she scoots right on over. She has slept like this from day one and I figured I would have go buy one of those bed rails but suprisingly she has never fallen out of bed.

the post office

This morning I completely forgot it was an Amparo day. Ugh!! We were just about to walk out the door to go for a walk when she showed up. Thankfully we hadnt left! So we had to do a quick clean up so she could "clean." I always think it's funny that we clean for the cleaning lady...it really gets Jon! But if we dont do it then stuff gets put away in the wrong spot or there is jsut a pile of stuff in a corner. Once we were done we headed down to the post office. Sam picked out some great stamps to put on her Thank You notes. Some of the cards had envelopes and some were postcards. It was cute to watch her seperate the cards when she was putting them in the slots at the post office. She was adament that the postcards went in the left hole while the envelopes went in the right! On the walk back Courtney fell asleep so I wheeled her into the garage and she slept for a bit...

Sunday

The twins slept in today until 11. They would not go to sleep last night and Syd slept horribly. She finally fell fast asleep around 6 after Jon made her bottle. She must have been hungry all night and just couldnt tell us. I felt so bad. Sam woke up around 830 and so we ended up going to the donut shop while everyone was still sleeping. She didnt eat anything and then when I got home Jon told me she had a fever in the middle of the night and he had given her some tylonel. Sure enough she still had one. She didnt act like she was sick at all except she didnt want to eat anything all day. So we pretty much spent the day hanging out here. I didnt feel that good either so I got to take a nap. We did end up at the park in the late afternoon because yet once again some one wanted to show the house. The girls were so happy to be there. It was really cold so we only stayed for about 20 minutes.

Courtney climbed up all by herself!

what a good looking Barley dog!

Sammy Kay is 3

Sam is finally 3. She woke up this morning and I told her it was her birthday. She wanted her presents. We saved Grandmother and Pa's package for today and the twins gift to her, everthing else she opened at her party the other day. We had to wait for daddy to wake up before she got them. I did give her a new princess comforter which she promptly snuggled into. I went into the kitchen to make my coffee and about 2 minutes later she runs in and asks "if it's my birthday does that mean I am three?" Yep sam you are three!!

Sam got a musical princess card from her daddy and the "chutes and ladders" from her sisters!

Grandmother and Pa sent her some Princess books with a cd that reads the stories to her.

and they also sent a fun A B C learn to write book.

We went to Monterey Bay Aquarium. Wrong day to go with it being a holiday weeekend and all but the crowd didnt bother Sam at all. She loved the jelly fish and the otters.
this is the position that the twins spent the day in, strapped in a stroller...poor girls. it was way to crowded to let them out.
Jelly fish everywhere!

these were my favorite they had purple spots on them

she got a little tired and found a nice spot to take a "rest"

still strapped in! what a view though...
I totally forgot to bring the kids jackets so

we bought Sam a new jacket and she got hugged by a huge otter!

The restaurant gave her a free ice cream sundae! We sang happy birthday while...

She blew out her candle!

Here they are again...still strapped in!

I wish I would have video taped this...Sam was walking in the sand, bends down takes her shoe off, shakes the sand out of her shoe and tries to put her shoe back on without getting sand in it. Daddy came to the rescue!
Walking on the beach w dad

We ended the day with a game of "chutes and ladders" Sam thought it was a fun game but she didnt like it if your piece landed on one that didnt look like it! She also thought going down the slide was really fun...especially the pink one!!
SHE IS THREE!

oh what a fun year!
