Syd and her bice

I sure cant wait until we finally decide to get rid of these things...not looking forward to it though...it's a like a drug to them!

Samantha Kay

Sam doing a little posing!

our first meal

I picked up some KFC to have a picnic at the new house today. As we were eating Sam says "this is our first meal at our new house...yummy"

After we ate we went for our first swim in the pool. The pool guy came on Tuesday and got it all good to go. It's a pretty cool pool it's probably only 5 feet at the deepest so it gets pretty warm...a little to warm (89*)...but still refreshing. The pool fence is going in on July 7 which is a good thing. Sydney was so excited she walked right out and jumped in without even stopping thank God Jon was already in the pool and he got her. She came up with a big smile on her face...didnt faze her one bit!

Last day of swim class

Today was Sams last day of Swim class. We are planning on signing her up again in August but July is busy with trips and such. Instead of going down the slide on the last day of class they got to jump off the diving board. At first Sam was a little scared but once she jumped she wanted to do it over again and again...i think she jumped off it 4 times!

Sam was very happy that her teacher brought cake for a special treat!

it's official

The house on Montebello Avenue is ours. After weeks of waiting for the paper work to go through it was sorta anti-climatic this afternoon when Kim called and told us that it's been recorded.

Now the fun begins. We have all our new appliances coming on Friday and we still havent decided on the living room floor. We found out today that it's not going to be possible to run a gas line to the kitchen so we have to get an electric stove. Jon looked at the bright side and we saved $1500 by not having to pay a plumber to pipe it over to the kitchen and an electric stove is cheaper! But we have to learn how to cook with a slow electric range... We have the construction crew is coming in the morning to work on walling off the living room for Jon's office. We still have to buy door knobs, window coverings, fans, get the carpet cleaned the list goes on and on! Plus the actual moving in this 115*... fun fun fun!

But the house is OURS!

another twin mom

Tonight we did the Costco dinner run...first had a tasty $6 meal (for a family of 5 that's awesome) and then spent $350 at the store itself! We did buy things for the new house like shower heads and bathroom faucets... towards the end of the whole shopping experience we ran into another family of 5... twin girls that were 18 months (like ours) and a toddler...she was only 11 months older then her sisters. The mom was so excited to see us. She gave me her number and wants to get the girls together. She said its so nice to meet someone that is in the same boat as they are. It is pretty amazing here, there isnt that many twins around. It seemed like when I was out and about in the bay area I always saw at least one set of twins if not more but here I can go a week or two without seeing any. Very odd.

play time in new pjs

they did a little dancing

Court didnt want her picture taken
they sure were having fun in their new jammies!

I was so happy to see the girls playing 'ring around a rosey' I remember when the babies were born Sam was so excited to play ring around the rosey with them...and so was I because we would play it over and over again.

ring around the rosey
pocket full of posies
ashes, ashes
we all fall down!

'they all fall down' was their favorite part

what a fun night!

Rainforest Cafe

Today we headed over to Mills Mall in Mesa. They have a Sears Appliance Outlet and we needed to buy a new washer and dryer for the new house. The princess store (aka the Disney Store) is there so thats one way to get Sam to behave while we do the boring appliance shopping. We lucked out and they were have a great sale on washer and dryers this weekend! So we got a nice white washer with a silver dryer. They didnt have a matching set in what we wanted oh well... After that big purchase we headed over to the Princess store and all the kids got new jammies with princesses on them of course! Sam also got a couple more princesses plastic toys (spoiled little princess that she is) We decided to go to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. I think the twins are about 2 years to young for it and Sam was a little freaked out too. Jon had to keep telling her the sounds were coming from a radio. The restaurant is like you are sitting in a rainforest. There was a stuffed animal jaguar above us and about every 10 minutes it would growl and freak the kids out. Every 15 minutes the whole forest would thunder and growl and lights would flicker. The twins were on alert the whole time and would not eat there food. They were super quiet with really big eyes. Sometimes they would reach out and want to be held while the noises were being made. Sams ears were working good and everytime there was a sound it was "whats that?" I dont think we will be heading back there for awhile even though the food was tasty... the girls are just so sensitive! They dont have that jungle fever!

Bice = Pacifer

My Aunt Lois wrote a comment and wanted to know what a bice was. Once Sam started talking she called her pacifer a bice or bicey so we still call them that. Strange I know but kids call things the funniest things...

color time

the girls love to color. Sam is getting pretty good at making people. She loves to make 'books' and she has some great stories too. Syds favorite though is to crawl up onto the table to color. It's pretty scary especially with this glass table we are borrowing from Kim until we get to the new house!

the house

Here's a picture of the new house...paperwork is taking it's toll on us and it looks like the keys wont be ours until Tuesday. Cant wait to get in there and start making it our home!

Syd had two 'bices'

This afternoon Sam, Syd and I made play dough and we were sitting there playing with it when all of a sudden Syd gets down from her chair. I look to see where she is going and she had found a rouge bice on the floor. She had one in her mouth so she held onto it. I went back to playing with the play dough and then I thought I better go see what she was doing. I thought she was playing in the bathroom - one of the twins favorite spots to play- but she wasnt there. I looked up and she was at the top of the stairs. she was heading towards my door. So I ran up and followed her. She still had the other bice in her hand. she went straight for the closet door (where Court takes her naps) and was about to open the door before I scooped her up. She was so mad I had to run with her down stairs screaming so she wouldnt wake her sister up. She was holding the other bice in her hand up high looking towards the direction of where her sister sleeps. She wanted so badly to give her it. (I want her to sleep a tad bit longer...)

fever

Courtney had a fever for a couple days (Tues and Weds.) Thursday she was pretty normal so I thought we were done but NOOO... now it's Syds turn. When I put her to bed last night it was 101.5* so she got the tylonel and this morning it was 100.7*. With Courtney I thought it was just teething but since Syds got it and her molars are pretty much all through I guess that wasnt it. They are fighting some little bug. Courtney is a much better sick girl, doesnt bother her at all but Syd needs to held and snuggled which is so hard to do with the other two wanting to be snuggled...it's such a problem (if you could call it that---three little kids wanting you)

550

The twins have been with us for 1.5 years, 18 months, 78 weeks or 550 days! In the grand scheme of things thats not a very long time but to our lives it has seemed long. They have gone from these tiny little blobs to these little people who climb on everything! What a joy it's been...

Rhonda (Jons sister) got us this when we found out we were pregnant the second time around. It was neat when I was pregnant to watch it go down but now its pretty cool to pick up every now and then to see what day we are at in life!

Auntie Kim

Kim came over this evening for dinner and to help out with the evening routine. She even did all the dishes!! YAY Auntie Kim!!

Sam can float

dog food

Sydney and Courtney think its so much fun to feed the dog. They have been a great help but now we have a problem. They know how to open the door to the closet the dog food is in and they would feed him pretty much all day long if they could. I need to put the food up high but thats been challenge and I cant keep the stuff in the garage...it's too dang hot out there! Now when I hear that sound of the dog food hitting the dog bowl I have to run...Big fat Barley is loving it!!

Sorry no pictures Jon. The old canon doesnt have a place to put the usb cable and I cant find the thingy the card goes into on my computer. I'll try and take pictures with the nikon today!(he thinks people only look at the blog for the pictures not my great writing)

what a morning!

At 6:15 I woke up to the sound of Barley dog puking. I ran down stairs and sure enough he puked a few times. The first one had about 4 baby fist size rocks in it...ouch that had to have hurt being in his belly. Dumb dog eating rocks. I got that all cleaned up and went back to bed. I am letting Sam sleep w me while Jon is gone and she woke up around 6:45 and was not going back to sleep. she was playing on the bed, tucking me in and all that. I did not want to wake up. So she decided to go play some place else at 7:10 I hear the babies crying and sure enough Sam went in there to wake them up. She said "look outside mom the suns up, its time to get up" I was mad, she knows she is not suppose to wake the twins up EVER. She was sent to the time out corner while I dealt with getting the babies up. I went down and talked her and she was upset because she didnt think it was fair she got in trouble because the suns up so every one should be up! I heard Barley and somehow he had locked himself in the bathroom and when I opened it YUCK, he took two HUGE craps. YUCK! So now I have all three kids up, not happy and I have to clean this pardon my french shit up!! I got the twins all situated upstairs with the kefir milk and a blankie. Turned on a the tv and all were happy. I then proceeded to clean. I thought there was going to be a bigger mess for me to clean because I was about to puke myself. I ended up pretty much mopping the whole downstairs floor and now the house smells like a mixture of fabreze and bleach, and it's only 8 am!
Sam keeps bugging me that its time to go to swim class but she got up so early she has to wait longer which she doesnt get. We leave here around 10 and she usually gets up around 8:30 so she doesnt get why we arent going yet. So now for the next two hours I'm going to be hearing when are we leaving!! ughh

its so dang hot

This afternoon Sam wanted to play in the crab pool. I swear it did reach 115* so there was no way I was going out there. I sat at the kitchen table in the nice air conditioned (to 80*) house and watched her play for about 10 minutes then she said she was it was too hot for her!

So after dinner it cooled down to maybe 101* and they all played out there. I sat on a little chair with my feet in the pool. They sure do have fun playing in the water. They love to poor it from one container to another. Sam pretends she's cooking some sort of meal today, she made hot dogs.

Tuesday

I did mess up my computer pretty bad. Jon tried to walk me through fixing it last night and in the end he said "your 'screwed'" but a little more colorfully! I thought about crying because I havent backed up my pictures for a while but he calmed me down and said the files should be intact the operating system (windows) probably needs to be rebooted or something of that effect. So I am now on my laptop. I had to go get some ethernet wire this morning to get the internet working and as you can see I did it!

So here's the day so far:

Courtney woke up with a fever (100.7) at 6:15 am thankfully Sydney didnt have one also but she woke up too. So I gave Cj a shot of tylonel and she seemed to be doing better. All of the molars are coming in right now but I didnt want to chance it so putting them into the child care at the y was out of the question. I kept both of them with me while we watched Sam in her swim lessons. They seemed to enjoy watching her. I did give them a water bottle to play with so by the time the class was over they were pretty wet--they dry pretty quickly here...it was 100+* today could be a record breaker...it's suppose to get to 114* with the record being 115* it's HOT!

Sam is now an eel and 1/2 the age of the others in the class they are all 6 or 7. Sams happy because they are all girls this time. She is going to be swimming on her own any day now! So cool to watch her each day as she gets better and better. I told her yesterday that I would swim with her after class today but with Court being sick I couldnt, she was a little bummed but I did let her swim for a bit afterwards.

not the best picture but thats Sam on the far right, she looks so tiny compared to the other girls. The teacher was a little shocked that they were so old this time around. I think she is use to 4 and 5 year olds in this class. She is doing a fabulous job with them all. It's funny when one of them says cant she says back "cant isnt a word here" so she makes them try.

Yesterday was Kims birthday and her sister through a little 'surprise' party for her. We couldnt stay long because Jon had to catch his flight. It was a nice little party and she was surprised. She did think it was odd that I didnt invite her to lunch or anything yesterday so she thought something was up. OoopS!

Allison had all these grass skirts and leis for the kids to wear. Courtney didnt want anything to do with it until the very end when everybody pretty much had taken theirs off. I didnt get a picture of her but she had to wear a green skirt and a green lei. Maybe she'll get the green room at the new house!

Hopefully the twins will take nice long naps this afternoon (Syds fighting hers at the moment-she did sleep for about 45 minutes in the car earlier so I dont know how much longer I am going to let her cry it out!) Sure is going to be a long week if this fever thing doesnt go away...I was looking forward to the free 2 hour childcare at the Y! When Jons gone like this it sure makes me appreciate the fact that he is such a hands on Daddy!

Happy Father's Day!

This morning I took the girls to church so Jon could have a couple hours by himself at the house to do whatever he darn well pleased. He said he surfed the net and watched a little bit of 'Taladega Nights'. We met up with him in Surprise and went to the yummy NYPD Pizza Place. when we got back it was time for the twins to take their naps so Jon took Sam to 'Kung Fu Panda.' He met Kim and her nephews there. Sam told me it was a little bit scary and she really didnt like it but they stayed and watched the whole thing. Afterwards they went back to Kims and went swimming which is what she wanted to do all along. I thought how great I'll get few hours of quietness too but Courtney decided today she did not want to nap...after about an hour of me trying to force it I just gave up. She was quiet for about a half hour so maybe she got a tiny cat nap and I did get to read a few chapters of my book so I was happy. The girls and I are getting Jon a beach cruiser with a bike trailer for Father's Day but we decided to wait and get it after we move...one less thing to move! He did want golf lessons, clubs or something golf related but I told him that he can have that when in 2 years when I wont mind him leaving for FIVE hours to go enjoy a rounnd of golf...right now I need him here when the weekends roll around!
Last night we went to Thee Pitts Again. It's a BBQ place that was on the Food Network show 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dive's.' It looked really good so Jon wanted to go for Father's Day. It worked out best to go last night and boy was it tasty. We got so much food too that there was enough for dinner tonight plus there is just enough for a sandwich tomorrow. We will definitely be going back there but ordering very differently. We only ordered 1 kids meal but Jon and I both got the 'big' meals. he got a taster sample and I swear it was 3 lbs of meat on his plate and I ordered the 3 meat combo. Sydney loved it the most out of all the kids, she is such a carnivore!

Here are a couple pictures of Courtney this afternoon being cute as can be...

diamondbacks

Last night Sam, Jon and I went to our first Diamondbacks game at Chase field. Kim came and watched the lil ones, it was great to take just Sam. We left about 2 hours before the game so we thought we'd stop off at the Princess store on the way but before that happened the back left tire went flat...Jon did not want to change the tire. It was to dang hot out there! We have Allstate Motor Club but I have been receiving renewals in the mail for the last month and never renewed. We totally lucked out and our last day was June 13! so we sat in the air conditioned car...the engine was getting hotter and hotter -the sensor to outside must be by the engine because it wasnt that hot outside! Jon did turn the car off once we hit 127*, didnt want the car to overheat too!! Sam slept through the whole incident....

We never made it to the mall but we sure had a ton of fun at the game. The stadium is AWESOME. They have an excellent little play area with four fun slides that Sam spent a couple innings at. We told Sam she could have whatever she wanted...she got a lemonade, hot dog and a large soft serve ice cream! Jon and I got the ballpark nachos we love so much!

It's a very family friendly ballpark. They have menu items for $1.50 including hots and sodas for the kids plus they have souvenirs that are priced reasonably too certain t shirts, hats and stuff for under 8 bucks plus the parking was only $8 and it was across the street!

She loved going down the slide backwards

We go the tickets through the church and we sat next to a really nice family by the end of the game Sam and Justin were buddies!

Here's Jon trying to explain to Sam that the fireworks arent going to go off until after the game. The game went into extra innings (well just one) with Chad Tracy hitting a home run to win the game!

I got this text from Kim and just had to laugh. She is a mom of four, twins do make you crazy tired!

We all had a super time and Sam loved the fireworks!---she did think it was a little loud though

swimming

Samantha took a great leap forward today! We went across the street to the community pool, just the two of us and swam for awhile. First she did about 20 jumps off the side of the pool into my arms. I would hold her with one hand on her stomach and she's swim to the stairs. After awhile she got bored of that so we were playing on the steps when I stepped about 2 feet away and told her to kick to me so she tried it and she did it! She wanted to do it again and again and by the end she could swim maybe about 6 feet. She'd go under and kick like mad until she reached me. It was sooo cool to see her so confident and proud of herself!

hanging at the park

The girls favorite thing to do at the park really close to us is hang... It's an upper body workout for me picking up these kids up over and over again, not the funnest thing in the world when it's 95*!

with the looks on the little ones faces you would think they arent having fun but they fall off and then want to get right back on!
