Happy Halloween

What a fun time! The girls loved it! Sydney figured it out really quick. She would reach in and grab the candy from the bowl and say 'tank you' while Sam and Courtney would wait until the people would put it in there bag. We probably went to about 10 houses and we ended up with a ton of candy. After trick or treating we went over to Auntie Kims for some chili. Yummy!! By the time we got back home we only had a few trick or treaters so there is way to much candy in this house! we let the kids have three pieces and Sam said she can have 2 tomorrow!

She has so many princess costumes she didnt know what she was going to be until the hour before...she went with Tinkerbell!

We played for a bit outside today after naps. For some reason the radio was on a country western station and we just danced and danced. Its still a little hot here but its nice to be able to be outside and not feel like you are going to die from the heat. I sure wish these kids could get well so we can start checking out the parks around here. Courtney had a great day but Syd didnt. I dont think i have ever felt this tired in my life...I probably have but its no fun at all. hopefully tonight I'll get some om interrupted sleep

I am just not getting much of it these days. Last night I tried to go to bed a reasonable hour (9:30). My problem started when I went to check on the girls. I checked on Courtney first, she woke for a sec and I checked to make sure she was clean then I checked on Syd. She was asleep on top of her covers at the foot of the bed. She had taken her nightie off so she looked cold being a good mom (I thought) I covered her up which woke her up...not good. I let her cry for about 15 minutes then I tried to lay with her. Nope didnt work. She just wanted out. After another 15 minutes I finally just opened the door and ran back to my bed. She went to the couch and fell asleep. I had to call Jon and tell him it was too funny. As I was turning off the light I heard commotion and her comes Sam. She said she had to go to the bathroom and she had to come all the way dwonstairs to use that one. She made enough noise to wake her sister up. UGH! I put Syd back in her room and Sam fell right back to sleep. Syd screamded for another 20 minutes...its now around 10:45 so I opened the door again hoping she'd just go back to the couch...no this time she walked downstairs and laid on the 3rd step from the bottom. I wasnt going to let her sleep there so I put her back in her bedroom. She finally stopped crying around 11:10. I woke up around 12:45 becasue Sam yelled Mom in her sleep. She is sleeping with me while Jon is away. I got up to check on Syd. She loves to sleep on the hardwood floor right next to the door. I did put a little area rug down so it would be a little bit more comfortable and warm but she moves it away. She likes the smooth hardwood! But its getting so cold at night I wanted to cover her up. But she was a sleep all cuddled up in her bed!! yay!! She slept until 6:30. At around 5 this morning Sam started making these singing sounds while she was sleeping. I have no idea what that was all about but she did it on and off for about 20 minutes. I almost went to her bed but she finally stopped. Its so hard to stay mad at them even when I have no energy...they are so dang cute!

The last couple times we have waited a long time in the little room for the doctor to come in. The kids were quite good today. I brought their little frogs and lizards. It was really cute they seperated them. At first Courteny was happy with the lizards but then she wanted the frogs...which didnt fly with Syd. These days they fight over EVERYTHING! I was trying really hard to get them there own things but now I realize that they have to have the same thing or all hell brakes loose!


They loved getting on the table and crawling all over the paper. Then they started standing up so I had to get them down!

Happiness is...

having a garage! The twins fell asleep on the way to pick Sam up at preschool. I parked and waited for a mom to get back to a car. Just any mom. I asked her if she would jsut wait for a sec while I ran in to get Samantha. At first she was a little shocked that I would even asked but I was in a quandry. They have been sleeping like crap and the last thing I wanted to do was wake them. it literally took me about one minute to run in get her. I drove home, pulled in the garage and left them there. It only lasted about 15 minutes but I think me taking the picture and Sam going into the garage talking didnt help! I did this alot back when I was a Nanny and have been waiting for the day to do it here. It's been to dang hot to leave them in the car~

Sydney fell asleep twice this morning in the highchair. The first time before she ate anything and then when I tried to take her to her room she woke up and crawled back in..ate pretty much of her food and fell back to sleep. I tried again to take her upstairs but she didnt want anything to do with her bedroom.

So far the naps today are horrible. They usually are so good about napping but with this sickness it jsut isnt happening. They also napped on the way to the doctors (vials to fill up of Courts poop yay) Oh yeah and Courtney has thrown up twice today! The first time all over the new couch and the second time on the way the way back from taking Sam to 'Little Lambs' (the daycare at the church only $5 an hour for drop off and $3.50 if I plan ahead--its only for Sam though, bummer!)

Kim is helping me out with Sam this afternoon/evening. She is taking her to the Y for her last day of Ballet. She wants to do gymnastics now so we are checking out the 'Little Gym' on Friday. After Ballet they are going back to Kims to watch the new Tinkerbell movie. Hopefully these kids will go to bed with out a fight and sleep until 9 am tomorrow I'd love it if it was just 7!

AM that is the time that my day started this morning. Sydney woke up and just would not go back to sleep. I got her some milk and tried to lay with her but she just wanted out of the room. She took off the blankets and pillow and proceed to hit and pull my hair all why she is screaming mind you until I finally gave in and let her out. She walked over to the couch, laid down and stared at the tv. Sesame Street is on all the time in the middle of the night/early morning! I got her all comfprtable and went back to bed. She let me lay in my room for about 20 minutes before she started crying for me. So I went and laid out on the mattress that we havent put away and dozed a bit. Sam woke up around 6 and Courtney at 6:45. Its going to be another one of those days...here they are being all cute this morning!





...oh yeah Sunday night I went cold turkey on the pacifers too (well with Courtney, Syd got one Sunday night but when she woke up I took it) Courtney has been crying for one all morning but I am not giving in! This stupid diarhhea sickness is not going away and those things are just germ magnets. I wanted to do while Jon was away because if he was here we would probably give in.

I went to bed early knowing that all hell could brake lose with Courtney. So lights were out at 9:30. I let Sam sleep with me since Jon was away. At 11:30 it was Sam who woke up and wanted ice cold water. I am usually really good at getting her some to take to bed but completely forgot. At 2:20 Courtney woke up crying. She had a bad diaper that had been there a while because the whole area was a big rash. I got her cleaned up and tried to lay her back in her bed. No go. She grabbed my hand and walked me downstairs and pointed to the fridge and said juice. I got her some very watered down juice and carried her back up to her room. Where she screamed and cried so I let her do what she wanted to do and back down stairs we went. She then handed me the remote. Sesame Street was on so we watched it. She was wide awake. At around 3:30 Sam came wandering down and wanted me to snuggle her so I left Court downstairs and took Sam back to bed. I tried to lay there but up walks Courtney. I tried once again to get her back in her bed but she started screaming again so back to the tv we went. This time in the loft. I tried to go to bed but Courtney kept calling for me. At 4:15 she came in and laid with me in my bed but wanted to bug Sam so we moved to her room. At first she didnt like but she did calm down. It took her awhile to get to sleep every time I thought she was asleep and tried to sneak out she would pop up and start whimpering. Finally I realized I would be sleeping there the rest of the night which was only until 5:20 when it all started with Sydney! So I am on my second cup of coffee counting the hours until its bedtime--maybe if I am lucky Sam will let me nap this afternoon but I highly doubt it!

ahh the joys of parenthood

Before naps today everybody had good BM's which is saying alot since its exactly a month since Sam started this whole thing...but it didnt last long. Syd ended up having a terrible diaper while she was outside playing in the sandbox. It all stayed in the diaper but there was so much sand in the diaper taht i felt likw I was putting sanpaper on her bum while I was cleaning her up. Then Courtney woke up from her nap. We were snuggling on the couch and she let out this big burp and the next thing she was throwing up all over herself plus a little on me. After we got all cleaned up she seemed to be feeling better but then she got all clingy again so we went and snuggled on the couch, this time she did the loud burp and a flood came out ---twice. Mostly all over me, her, her splint (thankfully she had a sock over it so it actually didnt get any on it) and also all over the new couch! What a mess, poor Courtney. I managed to get her in the tub while I went and got all my clothes off. Sydney stayed in the bathroom and kept pouring water over Courts head which she didnt like at all but didnt have enough energy to complain or stop her. Sydney then jumped in with all her clothes on while I was trying to clean up the puke on the couch before the scent stayed in. I ended up getting in with them so I could clean the smell away. So now all the kids are fed except Courtney..she didnt want to eat so I gave her a popsicle and she only ate a quarter of it she just inst feeling well at all. Oh yeah and Jon is gone until late Thursday night! I am getting Cabin fever sooo bad!! I cant take these kids anywhere with them sick like this. We havent done much at all this month. I feel bad for them and bad for me...

Moms Club Halloween Party

This afternoon I took sam to a fun little Halloween party. I left the twins at home since they still havent had a solid BM. (I wish this would all just go away) It was fun to go with just one kid. I got to relax and visit with other parents since there was only one to watch. She had a blast. They made a fun little craft and played a couple games. They played pin the nose on the pumpkin and as you can see below she got it right in the center and she was the first one! Then they played a couple games of Musical Pumpkins (like musical chairs but they marched around pictures of pumpkins.) The first game she didnt quite get it but she caught on (was a little bully at one time) the second game she won fair and square. She said she was Princess Belle today. She was just so excited to have 'make-up' on! Then each parent brought some sort of treat (not candy) and each kid walked around a 'trick or treated' it was super cute and lots of fun.

At one point Paulina, the hostess, took each kids picture. The little girl who was in front of us was dressed up like Madonna circa 1985. Her mom and her posed with there hips out all sexy like so Sam whispers in my ear "can we take our picture together?" I was like sure and we get up there and she wanted me to pose like the Madonna and her mom and I said "oh honey I am not very good at that" so she kicked me out of the picture!

I finally broke down this afternoon and bought 8 more sippy cups. We use to be so good and had maybe 2 or 3 different kinds but lately we have about 10 so I threw a bunch away. I did box up some good ones to take to Namy and Papas motorhome. It has been a pain lately with the kids wanting the same one and/or I couldnt find the right lid to fit the darn thing! now we are only having the playtex kind. I think they are the best even though it has a stopper thing that sometimes is a pain especially when kefir milk has been sitting in it for a couple days. I bought all the pink ones up so I ended up with 4 pinks so hopefully it wont always be a fight. Sydney like blue but Courtney and Sam definetly prefer pink!

Last night Jon stayed home with all the kids while us moms went out. Kim was the Designated driver and she took us to Saltys, Saddlesomething, The Yard House and the Sand Bar. Didnt get home til midnight...I cant remember the last time I stayed out that late! Boy are we getting old!!

We packed up a picnic lunch and headed over to Enchanted Island for a morning full of fun. Lots of kiddie rides and ducks to feed! My parents picked Jon up at the airport and met us there. The kids were so excited to see their Daddy (I was too) We are just having too much fun with the Hodges!

Yesterday we packed up most of the kids (poor Syd was sick with the stomach flu so she spent the day w Namy and Papa) and headed over to the Phoenix zoo. A fun time was had by all!
