Happy Halloween

The kids had so much fun this evening! They waited patiently all day and even ate their dinner since I told them after dinner we could get the costumes on and go! Sydney needed a little help with that but she even ate! Made a tasty chili w butternut squash in it, odd ingredient but it was yummy! We went around the block w the neighbors from across the street. They have a little boy "Superman" who is a little over one. The girls adore him! A couple houses were having little block parties. It was great to get out and see everyone in such a festive mood! When we got home they each got 5 pieces of candy...Courtney was the quickest in eating hers!

All ready to go...we lost her vail but she didnt mind, she loved gettting her hair curled w the curling iron!

Short hair

Sydney has not let me brush her hair the past few weeks. It's a royal pain. She says she doesnt want to look beautiful. Or she wants to do it. So today I asked her if she wanted to get her hair cut. She said yes. On the way down to Fantastic Sams (oh how I wish we still lived by Michelle) she said she gets a lollipop afterwards. I think that was the only reason she wanted to get her hair cut.

Life size

Sam was playing on pbskids.org and found a video on body measuring w Curious George. So we decided to make life size pictures too. We didnt measure them but the kids had a ton of fun coloring themselves!

This one is Courtneys, she didnt want her picture taken w it though
:(

A fun park day

we headed up to Rio Vista Park today. The girls love this park, it's a bit of a drive (especially when there is road construction on the 101)

My big girls in the baby swings!

Sydney was scared of this slide at first but once she went down it w her sisters I couldnt get her off of it!
Sam is becoming a monkey bar champ...need to get her some gloves though she is getting blisters on her hands!

Sams FASHION

CLEAN

I've been in a bad mood the past few weeks and I think it's because this house was an utter disaster. It was so dirty that I didnt know where to start and I knew it was going to take forever to get to be as clean as I wanted it to be. I ended up asking Jon if he'd take the kids for 6 hours on Saturday out of the house by himslef. He didnt like that idea at all (dont blame him I dont like taking the kids by myself anywhere these days!) We decided a cleaning service was the answer. I checked out Craigslist found a few that looked good and went w a lady who cleans w her mom and sis in law. They were fantastic. This house was in such a need of a deep clean that it took them 5 hours to do it! I am going to have them come once a month now and I woke up so happy to a clean fresh house all because the baseboards are clean!

Trader Joe's

I am a fan of Trader Joe's on Facebook and it seems like every couple days they post a product of theirs that makes me think I need to take a trip up there. It's about 10 miles away so it's not that convenient. Today they posted "Spiced Apple Bread" so after I dropped Sam off from school the twinks and I headed up there. I grabbed a cart outside and put the kids in it but when I got inside I noticed these cute little carts just the right size for them. They had so much fun. The store isnt that big so by the time we were done and they started racing each other it was time to go. The TJ's is in Sun City (retirement community) so all the "gray" hair people thought they were so cute...well the ones that like kids thought so. One Grandpa said he wished he's brought his camera cuz they were so dang cute! I think I will be going up there a little more often now. Sam saw the pictures and she wanted me to take her tomorrow...

snuggles

When Jons gone I let the girls come snuggle me in bed before we start the day. They love it. Today they got their chocolate milk in bed!

church

Yesterday morning I took the kids to church. That means I take them to Sunday school and I go to church. We dropped Sam off at her classroom and then went to the twins classroom. Sydney wanted to go to church w me for some reason so we left Courtney there to play headed over to the service. She got a little coloring book and sat on what she called the couch (pew). She loved all the singing and music but when the sermon started she wanted to move to a different couch. I was not going to play musical chairs with her during the sermon (or anytime during the service) so we went outside. She calmed down a bit so we went back in, nope she still wanted to sit on a different "couch" so back outside we went. We sat on a bench for a bit and I talked to her about it some more and told her we cant change seats so if she wanted to go back in we would have to sit in our seats. She was now fine with this. It only took about 20 minutes and we missed the whole sermon...next week she is staying in her classroom!

cupcakes

The twinkles arent napping much anymore. It's kinda a bummer. I have all but given up putting them in their bedrooms for nap time because they usually just thrash it...all the books and toys are all over the room. Syd will even take all of her clothes out of the drawers which is very annoying. So a few times a week when I just know they need a nap, I'll strap them in their car seats and go for a drive. Sam doesnt mind because she gets to watch a movie and when the lil ones finally fall asleep we drive thru starbucks for a chocolate milk w whip cream! Today she said she wanted a cupcake and water. So we drove and drove and drove and finally Sydney fell asleep but Courtney wouldnt. So after driving around for an hour and half I said we'd go home and make cupcakes. I didnt want to spend $7 on two cupcakes since two kids were up! Sam was a little bummed because she wanted one then and it was going to take soo long to make them. We made the yummy "perfectly chocolate" chocolate cupcakes. (The recipe is on the back of the Hersheys cocoa powder that somehow we have 3 jars of!) I decided to buy the frosting and add food coloring to make it orange but orange came out a little light and I didnt want to keep adding more food coloring. We have way to many so tomorrow the Laguardias will be getting a few....

lost

Tonight we went to Phoenix Christian High Schools homecoming football game. We met up with Jim and Jill and the Johnsons. Nick Johnson is the starting quarterback and he also plays defense. They had a bbq and a bouncy house before the game started so the girls had fun! After watching the first quarter in the stands (the girls were climbing all over the place) we went down by the track so they could run around. They were running and having fun little races. They'd make us say "On your mark, get set, GO!" Sydney decided to run back into the stands area. She was about 10 ft away from me and when I saw her bolt through the fence I took off. There were people everywhere. It was right by the concession stand. I knew she couldnt get to far. I freaked out though. I thought maybe she ran to where we were sitting by Jim and Jill but she wasnt there. I was running around but it felt like it was all in slow motion. I couldnt see her anywhere. I ran towards where we had dinner and she was at the entrance playing on the bars on the ramp. The lady at the front was yelling whose kid is this. She said she just ran up and started playing. At least she didnt run out to the parking lot! I got the keys from Jon and took her back to the car. She was in major trouble for running away from me! She wanted to watch a movie in the car but I wouldnt let her. I didnt want to think this was a fun thing she was in trouble! I did let her look at book though.

Jon stayed w the other girls for a little bit longer. PCHS was getting there little bums beaten! They loved running on the track. To bad they dont have Striders track team around here like when I was a kid! Sam loves to run and so do Courtney and Sydney!

Samantha has been an absolute joy the past couple days. She over heard me telling my mom that I wanted to give my kids away...I was having a bad day and if I cant bitch about it to my mom then who am I suppose to bitch about it too...well it sent her over the edge. I had to hang up the phone and tell her I really didnt mean it but it really hurts my feelings when nobody listens to me. I do put a lot on her for only being 4 and I know it. I tell her daily that she has to set the example for Courtney and Sydney and they look up to her so much. But ever since she heard me say that she has been an angle. She listens, she does what she's been told, she eats her meals and everything. Tonight when I was tucking her into to bed I told her how proud of her that she was being such a good little girl and that my heart was singing because of it. She had the biggest smile and said she will always try and be good from now on. Well after I left about 2 minute later she starts yelling "Mom" and I am running as fast as I can to get to her room before she wakes up her sisters and I'm mad. I tell her that my heart stopped singing and then she started crying. Oh my, I guess that was the wrong thing to say but we have gone over and over the fact that she isnt suppose to yell when the twinkles are sleeping. After I calmed her down and found out what she wanted (the fan turned on) she said she was sorry and she'll try and remeber not to yell anymore so I told her my heart was singing again and she was happy...

wit's end

I have three amazing little girls. Lately though they have been driving me absolute nuts. They wont listen to me at all. I've tried bribing them (works great for Sam not good for the other two) time-outs, yelling, ignoring and I just dont know what to do. I'm at my wit's end I dont want to take them anywhere anymore because it's a 20 minute fight to get them to leave. I am thinking about buying those back things with a leash and dragging them back to the car. It's no fun anymore. Here's jsut one example, I tried to go for a walk around the block with them the other day and one was 50 yds in front of me. One just stopped and didnt want to go anymore and the other one is trying to pick flowers out of peoples yards. OH so fun! I want to give them back but I can't, ugh!

I know I know this time will pass and soon they will be off getting married and having their own kids and dealing with all this too but that isnt giving me any comfort now!

Halloween Party

Today we went to a Halloween Party at the Sarjeants out in Buckeye. I met Sarah through a twims club out here and it's a really small world because her husband Ian and went to the same high school. He was a year ahead of me and I didnt know him. The have twins, Stuart and Abigal who are a little over 1. Samantha was the oldest kid there which was a first for her. Sarah had crafts and games for them to play. The girls were so excited to wear their costumes. It was pretty funny though Sydney was "Rosetta" a fairy from the Tinkerbell movie and the costume has a flower on it. She took the dress off before we left and wouldnt wear it. She put on an old tattered princess dress. It was so odd. So I asked her why she didnt like it and she was like "I dont like that yellow thing on it." The center of the flower was yellow so I asked her if it was red would she wear it and sure enough she would so I grabbed a sharpie and the problem was solved. So strange! Sam seemed like she had a lot of fun except for maybe about 15 minutes when all the little kids were playing outside towards the end. When we left she said "that was boring but the cake was good!" I so remember when I was little and I went to someones house when they had younger or older kids and being bored. The twins had a blast! It doesnt always have to be about Sam...even though she'd disagree with that!

Pumpkin Carving!

Happy Halloween!

This afternoon we drove up to Walmart to get a few pumpkins. I wanted to take the kids to a pumpkin patch but I cant find any nearby that is free to wander into. Most of them want $6 or $7 (each) just to step into the patch and then having to buy 3 pumpkins would have been a bank breaker! (I did hear of a few that are an hour or so away so maybe one of these weekends we'll go for a ride) Tonight we carved the pumpkins. The girls had so much fun. Jon was an excellent carver. Samantha wanted a princess, (Alyssa brough back these sparkly jewels that made it look extra special) Sydney wanted a pirate and Courtney wanted a scary one. Well Jon did the princess and the pirate while I did the traditional pumpkin (not scary but Courtney liked it anyways)
